A Light” – Change The World!!
UAE has one of the highest energy consumption rates per
person in the world. Power generation bills are expected to top US $
150 billion over the next 20 years in the GCC area alone. If
every student were to replace just one incandescent bulb to a
compact fluorescent bulb (CFL’s), we would save considerable amount
of electricity bills every year.
A 13-watt
CFL bulb is equivalent to a 60-watt incandescent bulb and is
designed to last 4 times longer and uses only one third energy of a
standard incandescent bulb. If every home changed just one light to
an energy efficient CFL, we would save enough energy to light few
million homes and prevent greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to
those from million cars. A small step can make a big difference to
protect our environment and preserve energy resources -- switching
out a single light bulb or fixture at home to one that's energy
efficient. Nearly 20 percent of our home's electricity use goes to
lighting. Changing a light is an easy way to start using
energy wisely and save money!

Presentation at Wesgreen International School, Sharjah, UAE
As a part of S4S campaign (2006), Green Energy conducted a presentation on 31st January, 2006 at Wesgreen International School, Sharjah, UAE under the guidance of Headmaster Mr. J. Calafato, Ms Anita Kirkup, Deputy Head & Ms Helima Sallam, Activity Incharge for primary school. The program aimed at educating students to use energy efficiently so as to conserve energy for future generations.

ULTRA-COMPACT SOLAR LED PEDESTRIAN CROSSWALK BEACONS
As part of Solar 4 Schools campaign, GE Solar is proud to announce its latest program - Safe Road 2 Schools introduced to ensure the safety of students. In this program, we are presenting our new product R820C, the most compact, energy-efficient and cost-effective solar LED pedestrian crosswalk beacon, that improves driver awareness of pedestrians at uncontrolled crosswalks.

Solar powered R820C is the most compact, energy-efficient and cost-effective solar LED pedestrian crosswalk beacon in the world.
The R820C builds upon the established reputation and field-proven capabilities of our self-contained R820 solar flashing beacon, but is smaller, lighter, more energy efficient and available at a lower cost.
Innovative "Solar Engine" Design
The R820C pedestrian crosswalk beacon improves driver awareness of pedestrians at uncontrolled crosswalks. Drawing on Green Energy's innovative new compact control module or "solar engine," the R820C can be mounted high above the sidewalk, out of the path of pedestrians and out of the reach of vandals.
Like its predecessor, the R820C utilizes our patented MICROSOURCE(TM) Energy Management System to automatically adjust to prevailing solar conditions for reliable year round operation under all weather conditions.
Simple, Cost-Effective Installation
With no trenching, cabling, grid power hook-up, or disruption to traffic flow, the R820C installs for a fraction of the cost of traditional hardwired systems; in fact, with minimal technical expertise, the R820C can be installed in minutes onto any existing signpost.
Significant long-term cost savings are also achieved by the R820C, as it requires no external grid power. Other key operational benefits included no bulbs to replace for the life of the unit, as well as no scheduled maintenance or servicing for up to 5 years, at which point only the battery pack may need exchanging.
Regulatory Compatibility
The R820C is the only self-contained, solar LED pedestrian crosswalk beacon that uses ITE* compliant LED modules and meets all MUTCD** requirements for flashing beacons.
